Begin the road to advanced pistol skills and enforce your defensive platform!

The Introduction to Defensive Pistol Course offers the essential knowledge and skills that must be mastered in order to carry, store, and use a firearm safely and effectively for effectively defending yourself with a pistol. All defensive pistol courses start at 5pm and continue until about 9pm. The purpose of holding this class during these times is to start training in daylight hours and continue training through dusk into the night for low light shooting.

An attendee can expect to shoot through a minimum of 250 rounds. Live fire drills will include basic holster techniques, multiple target acquisition, distance differential drills, point shooting, firing from the hip, shooting from cover, among several other drills. Practical information will include concealment techniques, ammunition and firearm malfunctions, and practical responses in a defensive situation, among the proper application of the 5 shooting fundamentals with defensive application.

All live fire drills are executed on a one-on-one basis. Because of the nature of this course, class sizes are kept at a maximum of 5

You will need the following equipment:

  • A defensive caliber pistol (one can be rented for $15 if needed)
  • 250 rounds of ammunition
  • Eye protection
  • Hearing protection
  • Knee Pads
  • 3 magazines
  • Magazine Pouch
  • Strong Sided Hip Holster
  • Concealment Clothing

There is no minimum age for this course, but we do recommend students a minimum of 18 years old.

We offer package deals for those who wish to attend multiple classes as well as a 10% discount to Boy Scout members and leaders, military, law enforcement, and fire fighters. Groups of 4 or more will also receive a 20% discount!

To ensure students get the most out of the training, all class sizes are kept to a small maximum of 12.

FAQ

DO I NEED MY OWN FIREARM TO ATTEND THIS COURSE?

Not at all. If you have one, it is recommended to bring it, but we have firearms on site that can be rented for $15.

 

ARE THERE CLASS SIZE MINIMUMS?

Never for any classes aside from instructor courses. We pride ourselves on being able to keep lower class sizes.

 

THERE ANY OTHER FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE CLASS?

No, all range fees and materials are covered. The only thing you are responsible for are ammunition, eye protection, hearing protection, and a firearm.

 

WHAT IF I RESERVE MY SPOT, BUT FIND OUT LATER ON I CAN NOT MAKE IT ON THAT DATE?

We can work with you! If you find you are not able to attend the class you wanted to come in on, we can get you in for the next one, just as long as you let us know within 48 hours of the class.

HOW LONG TO I HAVE TO RESERVE MY SPOT?

Payment must be received a minimum of 8 days prior to the date of the first class to ensure your included packets arrive on time. Classes registered for after the 14 day deadline may be done at an additional nonrefundable charge for expedited shipping.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel, you may do so by calling our office at 480-244-6315 up to 48 hours before the course. If done before the cutoff date, you can credit the paid funds toward another class.

All no call/no shows or cancellations within 48 hours of the class may result in all paid funds being forfeited.

No Refunds will be provided. You will have the option to apply the amount you paid towards another course in the form of a credit if your cancelation or reschedule is arranged before 48 hours of the class.
