Build upon your pistol skills and learn to use them for a defensive application.

Gerard Violette and Safe Arizona Firearms Education, LLC will be presenting a SAFE Introduction to Defensive Pistol course at the SAFE training facility in Mesa, AZ.

Because of the content of the class and the activities, all participants must be a minmum of 18 years old.

This SAFE Introduction to Defensive Pistol course is the first installment of a three tier course set. During the SAFE Introduction to Defensive Pistol, students will learn the proper application of the fundamentals of pistol shooting, and how to apply them for defensive purposes. The class also covers firearms & ammunition malfunctions and how to properly respond to them in a defensive situation, holster selection, proper presentation from a holster, multiple target acquisition, low light shooting, reloading techniques, and the scanning process. All live fire exercises are done on a one-on-one basis with an instructor.

You will need the following equipment:

  • Your defensive pistol (.380 and above only)
  • 250 rounds of ammunition at minimum
  • Eye protection
  • Hearing protection
  • 3 magazines/speed loaders
  • A holster (no nylon holsters will be allowed in the class)
  • A magazine pouch that can hold a minimum of two magazines
  • every day clothing
  • Knee pads
  • Water (All exercises are done on an outdoor range)

We offer package deals for those who wish to attend multiple classes as well as a 10% discount to Boy Scout members and leaders, military, law enforcement, and fire fighters. Groups of 4 or more will also receive a 20% discount!

To ensure students get the most out of the training, all class sizes are kept to a small maximum of 12.

FAQ

DO I NEED MY OWN FIREARM TO ATTEND THIS COURSE?

It is recommended to bring your personal carry firearm, but we have firearms on site that can be rented for $15.

 

ARE THERE CLASS SIZE MINIMUMS?

Never for any classes aside from instructor courses. We pride ourselves on being able to keep lower class sizes.

 

THERE ANY OTHER FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE CLASS?

No, all range fees and materials are covered. The only thing you are responsible for are ammunition, eye protection, hearing protection, and a firearm.

 

WHAT IF I RESERVE MY SPOT, BUT FIND OUT LATER ON I CAN NOT MAKE IT ON THAT DATE?

We can work with you! If you find you are not able to attend the class you wanted to come in on, we can get you in for the next one, just as long as you let us know within 48 hours of the class.

HOW LONG TO I HAVE TO RESERVE MY SPOT?

Classes registered and paid for after within 14 days of the class may be done at an additional nonrefundable charge for expedited shipping.

 

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel, you may do so by calling our office at 480-244-6315 up to 48 hours before the course. If done before the cutoff date, you can credit the paid funds toward another class.

All no call/no shows or cancellations within 48 hours of the class may result in all paid funds being forfeited.

No Refunds will be provided. You will have the option to apply the amount you paid towards another course in the form of a credit if your cancelation or reschedule is arranged before 48 hours of the class.
