Women are invited to attend this course for free!

First of all thank you for your interest in our courses. More importantly, thank you for your desire to increase you knowledge and skill as a SAFE and responsible gun owner.

Due to popular demand, we now offer an optional shooting segment for both basic and advanced pistol shooting segments!

While this is a shooting optional course, it will satisfy Arizona DPS training requirements to obtain your permit.

The course will cover defensive pistol selection, ethics of use of force, legal information, basic firearms knowledge, and what to do before, during, and after a defensive shooting incident, and legal information pertaining to use, carry, purchase, and ownership of a firearm.

While we are a constitutional carry state, and we do not need a CCW to carry concealed, the following are some benefits to having a CCW:

1) Reciprocity: several states recognize out CCW and will allow you to carry concealed in their states with our permit. Nevada is one of these states. I have spoken with DPS and they will not update their website until they get a written letter from Nevada, If you need to confirm, you can call 702-828-3271.
2) Under federal Law (USC 922(q)(2)(A)) It is illegal to transport your firearm within 1,000 feet of school grounds, unless you have a state issued firearms permit (Arizona CCW qualifies under this)
3) Faster processing for firearms purchases
4) the more you have in your corner if you have to defend yourself in court, the better
5) Be able to carry into alcohol serving establishments concealed
6) Serves as a way of informing a police officer you have a firearm without having to say the word “gun” when interacting with them.

We will have someone on site to do fingerprints for an additional $20. The CCW department of AZ DPS will not accept any clearance cards, including the DPS fingerprint cards. They will require new fingerprint cards to be filled out.
The optional basic shooting battery starts immediately after the ccw class, runs about 4 hours, and will cover the fundamentals of pistol shooting, a recap of firearms safety, ammunition and firearms malfunctions and how to respond to them, practical exercises on cycling semi-automatic, single action, and double action revolvers, and live fire exercises of about 50 rounds. We will be utilizing an indoor range. The cost for this battery is $60, and covers all range fees and student materials. To attend, you will need the following:

  • A pistol (one can be rented for $15 if needed)
  • Eye protection
  • Hearing Protection
  • 50 rounds of ammunition

The optional advanced shooting battery starts immediately after the ccw class, runs about 4 hours, and is designed for those who know the basics of pistol shooting. This will cover the fundamentals of pistol shooting, a recap of firearms safety, ammunition and firearms malfunctions and how to respond to them, holster selection, concealment techniques, the steps for drawing your firearm from a holster, and live fire exercises covering the fundamentals of drawing your firearm from a holster from concealment, firing about 100 rounds. We will be utilizing an indoor range. The cost for this battery is $60,and covers all range fees and student materials. To attend, you will need the following:
  • A pistol
  • 100 rounds of ammunition
  • eye protection
  • hearing protection
  • a strong sided hip holster (No nylon)
  • clothing to conceal your firearm
  • 3 magazines or speedloaders
